What's Happening 2 Years Later?!...

2 Years since my last post can only tell you that my life got a little crazy! Well, it's not about to calm down either.
Let's review the last two years. Brett got so excited for his baby Brother! Yes, another boy.
I Gained a lot more weight with this pregnacy than with Brett. It was still a good pregnacy and nothing to crazy happened.
The first Moment meeting our second little boy was so exciting. He still didn't have a name till right when we left the hospital.
Our sweet little Jordan Curtis McCormick, after the late Grandpa Curtis who died in June of 2011.
Brett didn't like his baby brother at first, but Jordan started to grow on him not too long after.
Now they are two peas in a pod and love to read their books together. Brett is such a good big brother.
This is Jordan on his 1 Year birthday and the year just went by so fast!!!

Now that Jordan is 1 and Brett is 3! Holy cow! Life has changed so much! I found a great job working at Bright Start Daycare and get the amazing opportunity of teaching a 3 year old preschool class in the mornings and even better I get to take my boys with me and Brett is in my class with me all day, which can have it's ups and downs. While i'm working full time... Drum roll... Gavin got into an RN Program!! He Just barley started his school at Nightingale College which is located in Ogden so he has to commute once a week to his school but it's totally worth it to us because Christmas of 2014 Gavin will be graduated and be able to start his career as a nurse! I'm so Proud and so excited for him!
Like I said, I don't think things are going to calm down any with a full time nursing student and 2 roudy boys to take care of but hopefully starting to blog again with give me a little Mommy time again!

Update on School

Well Gavin got his CNA. His first step to getting his RN. He is now taking the classes he needs to get into the LPN program next fall. So far he has all A's and the summer semester is about to end so i'm very very proud of him! He is a way smart boy. He only has 3 or 4 more classes to do before the next LPN program starts next fall.
As for me... My CDA is still in progress and going to take a little longer than I wanted. And then all I need is a place to open my own preschool which will take longer. Much longer.
But Until then I decided to go into something that I could do until then. I took a class from U.S. Career Institute for Medical claims and billing. It was a Four month course. I started in the beginning of April and finished the beginning of June. How good am I? Hehe.
I've also started taking sign language classes which I absolutley love!! It's so much fun and it'll be great to teach Brett as a second language. It's very useful.
It looks like when I finish learning one thing I just move on right to the next. I believe that we will always keep learning, even if it's the silliest thing, because it's always better to know something when you don't need it than not know it when you do.

Brett's First Birthday

On June 25 2011 Brett Ashton McCormick turned One!!! I can't believe that I have a one year old. It's absolutly insane. We didn't really plan on anything huge for his first birthday. I know your suppose to make a big deal out of it, he only turns one once. But we didn't plan anything. Instead we decided to go to something that was already planned. Hehe. We went to a family bbq at my sisters house. My sister Karrie made a cute little cake and we had quite a great time. He opened presents and we sang happy birthday. The whole sha-bang!

Brett absolutley loved his presents. (Especially the truck)

That's it Brett, stuff your face :)

Aww what a sweet messy face!

He does love the camera.

He started to get use to the Bounce house that was there. That was a lot of fun. Lets see... A bounce house for his First birthday, What am I going to do for his second?!?!

He Loves his Birthday chair he got from a friend so much he never wants to get out of it!

Daddy and Brett in the Bounce house

I still haven't got use to the fact that I now have a one Year old! How insane :) But we'll enjoy it year by year.

I think It's about time... and over view of the year

So it's been like six months since i've posted last... Yeah I've been pretty neglectful of my blog with all the important things that have happened!! But i've been scrapbooking instead so I think i'm pretty even.

Let's see first thing is first. New years was great. My resolutions seemed to have been forgotten, which is ok because i've been making monthly goals instead. I'll do a quick date run through about the huge milestones in Brett's first year
Brett is eating solid foods and we have started teaching him sign language.

Jan 26 Brett said his first word. It was Dada of course.

The next day Jan 27 He took his first steps in his walker and loves it!

Feb 1 He had his first ER visit because he was throwing up constantly and did that for 3 or 4 days after.

Feb 14 Brett had his first Valentines day and got a cute stuffed doggy

Feb 19 Brett got his First tooth!! It was His bottom right tooth in the middle. He looked pretty funny for a month before he got his second one and than another month he got his four top teeth all within two weeks. Let me tell you that was a fun week.

Feb 28 He crawled for the very first time! And was in to everything
March 8th we were in a car accident. Let's tell a story here

We were on our way to salt lake to see our nephew in the hospital and the weather was fine and wonderful. It wasn't snowing, for once. When we got to strawberry canyon the roads were absolutley fine when we saw a semi truck swerve into our lane about 50 yards in fron of us because a mini van had pushed it out of the way so it wouldn't pass him. Dumb mini van. Gavin tried to swerve over into the snow bank but couldn't quite get over the bank. As the semi truck got closer and closer he saw us and tried to get back over but couldn't. Finally as we were about to get way to close something pushed us over the bank and we hit the next bank so hard we jumped and flew in the air for about 40 yards and landed on the wheels when we should have rolled. Gavin did a great job with the wheel and we had a lot of help from the other side. Everyone one was fine except kassie sprained her wrist and we all drove in the ambulance to heber to get kassies arm checked out. It was Brett's first ambulance ride and hopefully his only. I recall when we said the prayer before we left, Kassie was praying and said, if we get into an accident, bless that we will be able to stick together as a family and get through the hard ship. It stuck out to me because she said if we do instead of please bless that we don't get into an accident at all lol. It was truly an inspired prayer. She also asked for her parents to be there watching over us and we definatly felt that they were.

March 22 Brett can wave bye bye and he got his first Hair cut. It was getting pretty long in the back with nothing on top hehe. So we wanted to make him even.

Before

After

Now

April 21 was Gavin's birthday so now he is 22!!

April 30 Brett took his first steps and now he never stops! He loves to walk and when he falls he just gets right back up and goes.

June 18 I Finally turned 20

I told you that we were teaching Brett sign language and he does really good with it.

In words he says:

Dada

And Mama when he screams

Uh oh

Oh

Ouch

And Then lots of Baby talk

In Sign language he says:

Dada

He hates to say Mama I guess

Please

More

All done

He started hitting and with his 6 teeth biting but he does pretty good at listening when we tell him no. He's pretty much the cutest baby in the world And he's so smart :) He learns more and more each day!

Thanksgiving was Great and Very filling. It was Great to be around Family. This year we spent Thanksgiving with my Famliy so For Christmas we Went down to Gavin's Family. But we had Part of Christmas a little early so we didn't have to Bring Presents back and forth.
I Got Gavin his Favorite movie and Brett Loved the Wrapping paper!

Gavin Got me Pictionary Man Which is such a fun game.

Brett Got a Walker from Mommy and Daddy/Santa But he was about Two inches short so he can't really use it yet. I was so bumbed. But he likes the toys on it.

Brett Loved his Presents from Grandma amost and much as he loved opening them

This Year Grandma Evette was making a homemade Christmas and Has the pattern for The old Pound Puppy. So she decided to make them for everyone Making Hound Puppys.

They are super cute when They were finished and Brett loves his. Now she makes them for around $30 each.

While down in Roosevelt, we went sledding with the family and Brett didn't like it to much. Also mommy accidently gave him his first white wash but he's ok I promise! He is so much fun and I love him to peices!

Brett's Progressing so fast. He is 6 Months old now and I can't believe it. He's rolling over from his belly to his back and he sleeps on his side. He LOVES food and he'll eat everything. He loves watching his mommy and daddy eat and is now Reaching for people he wants. He loves standing on his feet and he lifts his feet when i'm holding him to walk. He's holding his own bottle and is drinking juice. We haven't started formula yet but It might be pretty soon with the way he's biting me. He sits up by himself and Splashes in the tub. His laugh is the sweetest thing you could ever hear and Loves playing with all his toys by throwing them across the room. He has a blast laughing at Trixxy and getting kisses from her as well. My little babby is growing up so fast but I lovve every new stage he gets too. :)

For Halloween I made three costumes. One for My Husband, He was Barney Rubble. One for Brett, He was Bam Bam Rubble. The cute this is that Brett's intials, Brett Ashton McCormick spell BAM, He's my little BamBam. And One for myself, I was Betty Rubble.

One week we had My Neice and Nephew over so we had lots of fun things planned. Like, Carving and Painting Pumkins, Making Halloween Cupcakes :)

This is me trying to Carve the Pumkin and Put Brett to sleep at the same time Haha!!

The Finished Project!

Also for the Month of October, My cousin did a fundraiser for her Daughter. It was Maggie's Month. It was an amazing thing to help her raise enough money for 80 Dives. Each dive was an oxygen Treatment to help her with her Cerebral Palsey. Also each Dive was $150. My Family decided we wanted to help but with no money ourselves to donate we put out Jars with Maggies picture and Discription for change in the Five locations that would let us.

When I went to collect after two weeks we had raised $60! At the end of the Month when I picked up the Jars we had raised $55 Raising a Grand Total of $115.28!! On Halloween Night Our plan was to go Trick Or Treating with the Jars asking for spare change for Maggie and Some Candy for us :) But Brett Got an Ear Infection that Day so we Just dressed up and stayed in.
These are the Places that Decided to let us Put the Jars in their Buisnesses. We Made these to show How much we Appreciated them.

First Time Eating!

We went to Brett's 4 Month Doctors visit. He had to get two shots and of course we didn't have a very good day after that. He was so Mad and in pain. Breaks a Mothers heart. But the Doctor said we could start experimenting with Solid foods. So a couple days after the Appointment we decided to give it a try. We sat him in his little Bumbo and made him some rice and it began! At First he was a Liitttle Resistant.

After A while he started to like chewing on the spoon with his Gums but he's still having a hard time getting it down his throat so We got Real messy REAL Fast. Haha.
After words He hated getting the rice out of his Nose more than eating it. He seems pretty interested and according to the doctor he's showing all the signs that he's ready to try it. So once a day we'll probably go at it. He said within a week or a week and a half he'll start liking it. This is going to be so much fun!! My little guy is growing up so Fast! But it's ok because every day he grows up he gets more and more fun! He's Laughing so hard now and sitting up really good, with support of course. Soon he's be rolling over and crawling and doing all the bitter sweet moments that us mothers love and hate. Love You Brett!

Brett Ashton McCormick: How I Got My Name.

Gavin and I Wanted to name our son after a Family member. I immediatly thought of my Uncle Brett. He was only 4 months old when he passed into the next life with Our Heavenly Father. Brett was also the name of Gavin's Mothers Favorite cousin That Passed Also. Gavin and I toyed with the name and thought of other names as well but it always came back to Brett. When visiting my mother while I was Pregnant, I told her the names we were considering. She said that she always wanted to name one of her sons Brett but never did and that we should name him Brett.

I realized later that Brett was the name we were going to name our first son. Eventually I found a middle name that fit quite well with his first, No special meaning or anything, It just happened to work Perfectly. I was looking through Our Family History book of my Great Grandma and Grandpa That was compiled by my Aunt and saw a picture of my Uncle Brett before he passed. I like the name but Gavin was still wondering if that was really his name.

Soon the Day came when Our first son came into the world. With a first Glance I knew We had the right name for him. When we were filling out the Birth Certificates paper work I asked Gavin if He was sure it was Brett. He said A quick Prayer and looked up at me with tear filled eyes and said Yes, That's his name. Brett Ashton McCormick.

The next day was June 26. My mom Came to the hospital to visit me and in conversation It was brought up that this was the day that My Uncle Brett had Passed. Tears filled my Eyes as I thought about How Perfect this name was for him. My Uncle Brett truly wanted my child to have his name.
As I was Looking at my perfect Baby in the hospital I couldn't help but think how I had seen his face before and It felt like i've known him for years. When we got home from the hospital we decided to open the family history book again to look at my Uncle Brett's Picture again.

Brett Darin Cazier
Brett Ashton McCormick
It was almost a spitting image to my new born son. My Uncle Brett Will always be remembered and loved. My heart was filled with love of my new born son and the love of my Uncle Brett. I know that he is watching over my baby to this very day and on.

My sons Guardian Angel.
