Halloween Fun!

For Halloween I made three costumes. One for My Husband, He was Barney Rubble. One for Brett, He was Bam Bam Rubble. The cute this is that Brett's intials, Brett Ashton McCormick spell BAM, He's my little BamBam. And One for myself, I was Betty Rubble.

One week we had My Neice and Nephew over so we had lots of fun things planned. Like, Carving and Painting Pumkins, Making Halloween Cupcakes :)

This is me trying to Carve the Pumkin and Put Brett to sleep at the same time Haha!!

The Finished Project!

Also for the Month of October, My cousin did a fundraiser for her Daughter. It was Maggie's Month. It was an amazing thing to help her raise enough money for 80 Dives. Each dive was an oxygen Treatment to help her with her Cerebral Palsey. Also each Dive was $150. My Family decided we wanted to help but with no money ourselves to donate we put out Jars with Maggies picture and Discription for change in the Five locations that would let us.

When I went to collect after two weeks we had raised $60! At the end of the Month when I picked up the Jars we had raised $55 Raising a Grand Total of $115.28!! On Halloween Night Our plan was to go Trick Or Treating with the Jars asking for spare change for Maggie and Some Candy for us :) But Brett Got an Ear Infection that Day so we Just dressed up and stayed in.
These are the Places that Decided to let us Put the Jars in their Buisnesses. We Made these to show How much we Appreciated them.

First Time Eating!

We went to Brett's 4 Month Doctors visit. He had to get two shots and of course we didn't have a very good day after that. He was so Mad and in pain. Breaks a Mothers heart. But the Doctor said we could start experimenting with Solid foods. So a couple days after the Appointment we decided to give it a try. We sat him in his little Bumbo and made him some rice and it began! At First he was a Liitttle Resistant.

After A while he started to like chewing on the spoon with his Gums but he's still having a hard time getting it down his throat so We got Real messy REAL Fast. Haha.
After words He hated getting the rice out of his Nose more than eating it. He seems pretty interested and according to the doctor he's showing all the signs that he's ready to try it. So once a day we'll probably go at it. He said within a week or a week and a half he'll start liking it. This is going to be so much fun!! My little guy is growing up so Fast! But it's ok because every day he grows up he gets more and more fun! He's Laughing so hard now and sitting up really good, with support of course. Soon he's be rolling over and crawling and doing all the bitter sweet moments that us mothers love and hate. Love You Brett!

Brett Ashton McCormick: How I Got My Name.

Gavin and I Wanted to name our son after a Family member. I immediatly thought of my Uncle Brett. He was only 4 months old when he passed into the next life with Our Heavenly Father. Brett was also the name of Gavin's Mothers Favorite cousin That Passed Also. Gavin and I toyed with the name and thought of other names as well but it always came back to Brett. When visiting my mother while I was Pregnant, I told her the names we were considering. She said that she always wanted to name one of her sons Brett but never did and that we should name him Brett.

I realized later that Brett was the name we were going to name our first son. Eventually I found a middle name that fit quite well with his first, No special meaning or anything, It just happened to work Perfectly. I was looking through Our Family History book of my Great Grandma and Grandpa That was compiled by my Aunt and saw a picture of my Uncle Brett before he passed. I like the name but Gavin was still wondering if that was really his name.

Soon the Day came when Our first son came into the world. With a first Glance I knew We had the right name for him. When we were filling out the Birth Certificates paper work I asked Gavin if He was sure it was Brett. He said A quick Prayer and looked up at me with tear filled eyes and said Yes, That's his name. Brett Ashton McCormick.

The next day was June 26. My mom Came to the hospital to visit me and in conversation It was brought up that this was the day that My Uncle Brett had Passed. Tears filled my Eyes as I thought about How Perfect this name was for him. My Uncle Brett truly wanted my child to have his name.
As I was Looking at my perfect Baby in the hospital I couldn't help but think how I had seen his face before and It felt like i've known him for years. When we got home from the hospital we decided to open the family history book again to look at my Uncle Brett's Picture again.

It was almost a spitting image to my new born son. My Uncle Brett Will always be remembered and loved. My heart was filled with love of my new born son and the love of my Uncle Brett. I know that he is watching over my baby to this very day and on.

The Move!

September 5th After Brett's Baby Blessing, We moved to Logan and moved in with my mom. But we were moving back into my old room which is really a hideous room. It was blue and had dolphins all over from my previous obsession and a really obnoxious cuboard that was not useful for us. So we decided to remodel :) We tore out the cuboard thing and painted. I wish I would've taken before pictures but I have middle and after pictures. If I find some pictures with the before in it i will post them.
This is where those obnoxious cuboars were. They covered the entire wall. Then We painted and put in that middle Border.

This is us all moved in and settled. The bed is still messy because I'm still in it! We pretty much decorated to make it our own little space. It's our bedroom/living room. We still have to put the doors up where all those sheets are and we have a nice little fireplace to keep us warm.

This is Gavins little corner. With his TV and Desk and XBox He is pretty much set for life. We still have to make a box for mom to hold all those ugly chords haning down and for her sprinkler system box.

Basically we are living in an entirely different room Then it was. I think we did a pretty good job. Don't you?

2 and a Half Months Of Brett

Brett Ashton is almost three months old and has already learned and grown so much! He use to be so small we had to add this carseat insert just so he would fit! a couple weeks later we took it out and now he fits in his carseat perfectly!
He is already starting to play with his toys and is doing great at tummy time. A mommy couldn't be more proud of her little guy!

This is MY Smile that he gives to his mommy and it melts my heart every time!

Brett got his first shots when he was two months old and did not have a very good day after that. But His Daddy held him to make it all better. He and his daddy have a special bond!

Especially now that he's already teaching him how to play video Games!! Brett and Daddy have a lot of quality time together. Which mommy doesn't mind, she could use the break :)

Brett Ashton McCormick was blessed September 5th right before we moved to Logan. He looks so cute in his little outfit (Sorry the picture is so small) But he Hated getting it on!

Brett is learning how to hold onto things better and has grown quite fond of this little blanket of his!

Brett is the most precious addition to our family and we couldn't have asked for a cuter boy. We love him so much and he makes everyday a different experience. I love watching him grow and learn every single day and I just can't wait to see what he does tomorrow! :)

Welcome Brett Ashton!

Friday, June 25th 2010, 7 o'clock AM... We drive to the hospital. I'm dialated 3cm. My doctor decides to break my water and see how fast I go instead of inducing me. Thank goodness. Within two minutes I have my first contraction of many. My contractions instantly come every three minutes for the rest of the labor process. Thank goodness Mom came with me and Gavin. She helped teach Gavin and me how to breath through each contraction then Gavin did a great job helping me the rest of the time. And hour later i'm at 5 cm. I can't walk around anymore so I lay on the bed. I decide to get on facebook and chat to everyone and tell them how insanely bad my contractions hurt!! The pain starts to get worse but I'm going to fast for an epidural. So they give a drug to "take the edge off" as the nurse said. And Boy did they work. That's when my facebooking got a little Loopy :) At eleven thirty i'm dialated to an 8. No more drugs for me. The pain becomes to much so I stop facebooking. I'm at a nine and I feel the sensation to push. I hold it back because i'm not at 10 yet and I have a hard time controlling my breathing. Mom had to come over and help me and Gavin again. We call the nurse in and i'm having a terrible time not pushing because the nurse, That I hated at the moment, told me that I wasn't at ten yet and couldn't push. I start screaming so she looks again and says ok get the doctor on the phone. I'm like wait a minute He's NOT HERE?!?! She gets the bed ready for the delivery and i'm screaming and having a really hard time controlling my breathing. Finally the nurse mom and Gavin calm me down enough to breath and push. My first push I pee All over the nurse!! Haha! After about the third push the doctor finally comes in and takes the nurses place. Gavins face was priceless when the doctor said he saw the head. A couple pushes Later and Some sucking from the vacuum I hear the most beatiful sound of my new baby boy!! The nurse puts Brett on my chest and wipes him off and I burst into tears. Gavin comes over and starts crying too. He stiches me up and they take my baby and I can finally breath!!

The whole pushing on the stomach thing Sucked A LOT! The whole time in the hospital after the baby sucked. No one told me it would hurt to sit up, stand up, or walk until a couple days after. Although the food was good :)

Brett stayed with the nurses most of the time so I could sleep and relax. When we got home mom was getting ready to leave and leave me alone with my new baby for the first night home! I think not!! I made her stay one more day. I prayed every night for about two weeks that I would hear him and wake up and not sleep through it. I finally got use to it. He's about the sweetest thing ever.

So 5 Hours Later at 12:45pm My 5lb 15oz Baby boy, Brett Ashton McCormick is here :)
